DURHAM, N.C. – The Clemson Tigers (9-6, 1-4 ACC) fall to the No. 21 Blue Devils (9-4, 3-2 ACC) after battling hard in Durham on Friday.
Opening up the day in doubles, the Tiger duo Cristina Mayorova and Leigh Van Zyl won their first point but ultimately left the match unfinished as courts one and two fell to Duke and claimed the doubles point.
The Tigers battled hard in singles, facing ranked opponents ranging from No. 93 to 110. Mayorova dueled against No. 93 Emma Jackson, falling 6-2, 6-0. Van Zyl and Daniella Medvedeva followed, losing 6-2, 6-4 and 6-1, 7-5 respectively.
Abandoning her match, Alexandra Anttila managed to edge Karolina Berankova 6-1 in her second set.
