CLEMSON, S.C. – No. 16 Clemson Tigers have two singles wins from No. 123 Artemis Aslanisvili and Candela Yecora, but No. 27 Georgia Tech (7-5, 2-1 ACC) outlast the Tiges (10-3, 1-2 ACC), 4-2, on Saturday afternoon at the DUckworth Family Tennis Facility.
The match was the first of the weekend’s Tennis Fest events, with the other two set to take place on Sunday at 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. for Clemson Men’s Tennis. Prior to the match, Clemson honored its first head coach Mary Kennerty as she took the honorary First Serve.
In doubles, the Yellow Jackets claimed the point with wins on courts one and three, but Yecora and Romana Cisovska defeated Taly Licht and Kate Sharabura 6-3 on court two.
In singles, No. 123 Aslanisvili defeated Given Roach, 6-3, 6-3, and is now 12-2 in singles play. Candela defeated Licht, 6-1, 6-5, and is now 5-1 in singles play for the 2024-25 season.
Up next, the Tigers play host to No. 10 UNC, No. 8 Duke, and North Carolina A&T at Duckworth Family Tennis Facility on Mar. 7 at 5 p.m. and Mar. 9 at 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., respectively.
