Founded in 1889 as Clemson Agricultural College, the university began as an all-male military school situated on 1,400 acres along the shores of Lake Hartwell. Today, Clemson enrolls 23,401 undergraduate students and 5,676 graduate students, bringing total enrollment to 29,077. With more than 80 undergraduate majors, 90 minors, and over 130 graduate degree programs, Clemson offers a rich array of academic opportunities.
