CLEMSON, S.C. – No. 31 Clemson Tigers (13-6, 3-4 ACC) defeated No. 67 Syracuse (8-6, 1-6 ACC), 4-2, at the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility for a Sunday Matinee. Freshman Artemis Aslanisvili secured her 10th win of the season, and No. 124 Graduate Sophia Hatton secured the win with a reverse sweep in singles.
“Great response this whole weekend after our match with Memphis,” Head Coach Boomer Saia said. We found ways down the stretch in 3rd sets and tapped into a Tiger resilience! Proud of our group to find ways to get the win.”

The Tigers took an early lead against Syracuse as the No. 80 ranked duo Gaia Parravicini and Amelie Smejkalova took down Shiori Ito and Nelly Knezkova, 6-3. Shortly after, Graduate duo Annabelle Davis and Sophia Hatton claimed the doubles point, 6-3, against No. 75 ranked duo Monika Wojcik and Serafima Shastova to give the Tigers an early 1-0 lead.
Syracuse claimed the first point on court six in singles, leveling the score to 1-1. Aslanisvili pushed the Tigers back into the lead with a win on court five over Shiori Ito, 6-1, 6-3. No. 107 Miyuka Kimoto defeated Smejkalova, 6-3, 6-2, to tie the score back to 2-2.
Shortly after, Davis defeated Shastova 6-4,1-6, 6-1 to help extend Clemson’s lead. After a first-set loss to Knezkova 5-7, No. 124 Hatton completed a reverse sweep 6-0, 6-1 to clinch the victory for the Tigers.
