MEMPHIS, Tenn.– The Memphis Tigers (4-10, 1-0 AAC) outlasted The Clemson Tigers (11-5, 1-3 ACC), 4-3, in a Saturday matinee at the Leftwich Tennis Facility in Memphis, Tennessee, on Saturday, Mar. 15.

In doubles, the Tigers opened up play by quickly claiming the point. Graduate co-captain duo Sophia Hatton and Annabelle Davis quickly downed Clemence Thouard and Alice Amendola, 6-1. Following the first doubles win, Romana Cisovska and Candela Yecora claimed the point by defeating Sofia Mikhailets and Miriam Grossman, 6-3.
Memphis took the early lead in singles with wins on courts six and one to put them up 2-1.
Davis came in clutch to tie Clemson back to 2-2 with a win on court three against Emily Meyer, 6-4, 6-2. Meanwhile, Cisovska claimed a singles point for herself, putting the Tigers up with a win over Alyssa Richter, 7-5, 6-3.
On court three, Gaia Parravicini fought hard but ultimately lost to Clemence Thouard 6-3, 7-6 (7-4), tying the score back to 3-3.
Coming down to court five, Artemis Aslanisvili claimed her first set 6-2, but dropped the second and third set 4-6, respectively, giving Memphis the final point.
Up next: The No. 22 Clemson Tigers are back at home for a pair of ACC matches. On Friday, Mar. 21, Clemson takes on Boston College at 5:00 p.m. and on Sunday, Mar. 23, against Syracuse at noon.
