Clemson Notes:

  • Clemson (6-8, 3-4 ACC) is coming off of a 7-0 sweep of Pittsburgh on Sunday, March 19 at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center.
  • Two Tigers earned ACC Player of the Week honors in two consecutive weeks earlier this season. Sophomore Ayan Broomfield garnered the award on March 6, and freshman Constanza Gorches did so on March 13.
  • Gorches has an 8-4 record in dual matches and a 5-2 mark in ACC matches. The rookie has played primarily at No. 5 singles this season.
  • Sophomore Marie-Alexandre Leduc has a 7-5 record in dual matches and boasts a 5-2 record in conference play, playing primarily at No. 2 and 3 singles.
  • Clemson has faced three opponents ranked in the top six in the nation and four ranked in the top 25 so far this season.
  • Clemson’s 2017 roster is made up of one junior, five sophomores and two freshmen.
  • Head Coach Nancy Harris is in her 20th season with the Tigers. In her first 19 seasons at the helm of the program, Harris took the Tigers to the NCAA Tournament 17 times, including 15-consecutive years from 2002-16.

Series Information vs. Marshall:

  • Thursday’s match will be the first-ever meeting between Clemson and Marshall in women’s tennis.

Series Information vs. College of Charleston:

  • Clemson holds a 24-1 advantage all-time in the series against College of Charleston.
  • The most recent meeting between the two teams was a 7-0 victory for the Tigers two years ago, on March 16, 2015 in Charleston, S.C. The only current Tiger on that team was junior Daniela Ruiz, who won in straight sets at No. 5 singles against the Cougars.
