Comments on Clemson’s invitation to the 32nd Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.
Clemson Head Coach TOMMY BOWDEN’s comments: “The team and staff is very honored to have the opportunity to play in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. With so many players on our team from the Georgia area I think this would be the bowl they would chose to go to. It is something that we are looking forward to and feel very fortunate to be a part of.
“To be honest with you, it was not a goal of ours at the beginning of the year to go to a bowl game. There were so many things that needed to be done here that even though going to a bowl game was a step we needed to take eventually, I didn’t think it had to be this year. That we did accomplish this in the first year is a credit to the players and coaches.”
Athletic Director BOBBY ROBINSON’s comments: “With the difficulty of our schedule and losing so many players to graduation, we really just wanted to show improvement as the season went along. I thought our team did a tremendous job throughout the whole season and it is a credit to them that they are going to a bowl game. “
Sophomore Linebacker CHAD CARSON’s comments: “All the players are really excited to have the opportunity to play in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. It is a great bowl that will give many of our players the opportunity to play close to home and in front of their families. We are very proud of what we have accomplished and we really look forward to going to Atlanta.”
Senior Wide Receiver BRIAN WOFFORD’s comments: “It would be great to get a win in our last game of the season. We have had a very productive season and playing in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl will only add to what we have accomplished. This game will also get the team ready for next year and all the challenges they will face.”
Senior Quarterback BRANDON STREETER’s comments: “Being my senior year, it really means a lot to be able to go to a bowl game. With my injuries this year it has been frustrating at times, but thank goodness I have the opportunity to go out and play again. We had tremendous fan support this year because they knew what a tough schedule we had. We are very happy as a team and I think the whole Clemson family is happy as well.”
