Tiger Wide Receiver Honored

CLEMSON, SC – Clemson University’s Jackie Robinson (Orangeburg, SC) has been selected to participate in the third annual NCAA Foundation Leadership Conference to be held May 31-June 4, 1999 at Disney’s Wide World of Sports at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL.

Robinson, a red-shirt freshman wide receiver on the Clemson football team, will be one of 300 student-athletes selected from approximately 850 nominations to attend the conference.

At Clemson, Robinson has taken part in the Pen Pal Program in which student-athletes write letters to area elementary school students once a month. In addition, Robinson took part in National Reading Week and has spoken at area schools and churches.

At the Leadership Conference, Robinson and the other student-athletes will take part in challenging and thought-provoking dialogue and activities designed to prepare them to take an active leadership role on their campuses and in their communities.
