Tiger Tracks Flashbacks Begins With 1981 Clemson-Georgia Game

Aug. 25, 2003

To celebrate the Clemson-Georgia rivalry, ClemsonTigers.com will take a look back at the series each day this week with Tiger Tracks Flashbacks. This new section starts with the 1981 contest.

Clemson turned in one of the greatest defensive performances in the history of the program after completely shutting down Georgia, the defending National Champions, 13-3 at Memorial Stadium. The Tigers wore all orange on this day, just the second time Clemson wore all orange attire. The Tigers forced a school-record nine turnovers and ended Georgia’s winning streak at 15 games. The nine takeaways were registered by nine different Clemson players.
