Three Tigers Honored by ACC

Clemson, S.C—Deshaun Watson, Ben Boulware and Jay Guillermo were all named ACC Player of the Week for their respective performances against Louisville last Saturday night.   Watson was named the ACC Offensive Back of the Week, Guillermo was named the ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week and Boulware was named ACC Linebacker of the Week.

Watson completed 20-31 passes for 306 yards and five touchdowns in the Tigers 42-36 win over third ranked Louisville.   He added 91 yards on the ground, giving him 397 yards of total offense.   This was the seventh time Watson has been named ACC Offensive Back of the Week in his career.   That is tied for second in Clemson history with Keith Adams and Sammy Watkins.  Tajh Boyd has the most selections with nine.

Boulware was named the Linebacker of the Week after recording a career high 18 tackles, including three tackles for loss against the Cardinals.  He also had a sack, a recovered fumble and deflected a pass in 101 plays.   It was the first ACC Player of the Week selection for the senior from Anderson, S.C.

Guillermo played all 62 plays for the Tigers and graded out at 91 percent.  He had three knockdown blocks and did not give up a sack.  He was a big reason Clemson gained 201 yards rushing and had 507 yards overall against a Louisville defense that was  ranked in the top 25 in the nation entering the game.  It was the third time Guillermo was selected as ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week in his career.  He was also selected for his performance against Boston College and South Carolina last year.
