More information from the Maxwell Football Club is included below.

Each week during the 2024 season the Maxwell Football Club will recognize outstanding performances with two weekly awards. The Maxwell Award Player of the Week will be recognized for overall performance on offense, defense or special teams, and the Chuck Bednarik Award Player of the Week will be honored for outstanding defensive play. Players selected do not have to be represented on the Maxwell or Bednarik Award watch list.

Maxwell Award Player of the Week
QB – LaNorris Sellers
South Carolina

Saturday afternoon, LaNorris Sellers turned in a career-high with 353 passing yards and five passing touchdowns. Sellers became only the 8th quarterback in school history to record five or more touchdowns in a game in Gamecock history. With the game on the line, he kept his composure and led a crucial drive to seal the win for South Carolina leaving Missouri with virtually no time to respond. Sellers and the rest of the Gamecock team have hit their stride winning four straight conference games and look to continue this momentum to close out the final two weeks of the regular season.

Bednarik Award Player of the Week
DE – T.J. Parker
Clemson

Clemson defensive end T.J. Parker has been selected as the Bednarik Award Player of the Week for his dominant performance in the Tigers’ big road win against Pitt. Parker’s relentless effort and ability to wreak havoc in the backfield were pivotal in Clemson’s impressive victory. Parker racked up seven tackles, an extraordinary 5.0 tackles for loss, and 4.0 sacks, putting constant pressure on Pitt’s offense and disrupting their rhythm. His performance was a masterclass in defensive execution, as he consistently overpowered blockers and delivered game-changing plays that swung the momentum in Clemson’s favor. Parker’s impact on the game was undeniable, and his ability to take over on defense is what makes him one of college football’s premier defenders.
