Our scholar-athletes and staff arrived at the National Football League office with a warm welcome from staff headed by Jashell Mitchell, leader of Diversity and Inclusion at the NFL. We started the day with a tour of the facility and then engaged with speakers from different branches of Football Operations including: Human Resources, Player Engagement, and Youth and HS Football.
In the afternoon we traveled to FlatIron district to Endeavor. Endeavor one of the top talent agencies ranging from fashion, to broadcasting, to sports marketing. We met with Katrina Eddie, the Clemson Alumna manager of Communications and HR, before hearing from various speakers through the company that have worked with talents like Serena and Venus Williams to Kendall Jenner. Each professional had a variety of unique advice to bestow upon our students. The visit ended with a question and answer period with representatives from the Human Resources department, discussing best employment practices and articulating marketable skills.
The day wrapped up with a trip to a live taping of the Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Filmed in the Ed Sullivan Theater, the Late Show has been under Colbert’s reign since 2015. The guys had a chance to see the different areas behind the scenes that help put a show together. They also had the opportunity to take pictures after the show taping was over up on stage with the Late Night desk. We even received a shout-out from Stephen Colbert while he was in the middle of takes.
