Joseph, Huegel Named to Watch Lists

Clemson, S.C—Clemson linebacker Kendall Joseph and kicker Greg Huegel have both been named to preseason watch lists for the 2017 season. Joseph was named to the Butkus Award watch list, while Huegel was named to the Groza Award Watch list

Joseph ranked second on the 2016 Clemson team in tackles behind All-American Ben Boulware .   He had 13.5 tackles for loss to tie for the team lead, added 3.5 sacks and had 16 quarterback pressures. He led the team in tackles in victories over Auburn (14), NC State (10), Wake Forest (11) and Virginia Tech (11). He was named honorable mention All-ACC in 2016.

Huegel made 14-19 field goals and was Clemson’s top scorer for the second straight year with 113 points. He is 41-51 for his career in terms of field goals and is already ninth in school history in scoring with 251 points. Huegel has been a second-team All-ACC selection each of the last two years.
