TIGER TIDBITS
- Auburn has a commanding lead in the all-time series, but Clemson has won each of the last two meetings (2011,12). The most recent matchup also took place in the first game of the season, a 26-19 victory in the Georgia Dome as part of the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Classic.
- Clemson is in search of its first win at Auburn since 1950, a 41-0 triumph in the last game of the regular season that year.
- Head coach Dabo Swinney has been successful against teams from the Southeastern Conference as Clemson’s leader. He has an 8-8 overall record, but his teams have defeated Auburn, Georgia, LSU and South Carolina since 2012.
- The Tigers are the preseason favorite to win the Atlantic Coast Conference. Clemson is defending champion of the league and went 14-1 in 2015, finishing runner-up to Alabama after a hard-fought National Championship Game.
- Clemson is No. 2 in both national polls, the highest ranking in program history to start the season by both the Associated Press and the coaches.
