Clemson Announces Affiliates for 2002

CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson Tiger Sports Properties announced its radio and television affiliates for the upcoming football season on Monday. Seven new affiliates are among the 26 stations that have agreed to broadcast Tiger football games on the radio network this season.

WCCP FM (104.9 FM) will again serve as the Flagship station. It will broadcast all Clemson sports produced by Clemson Tiger Sports Properties this year. Combined with WCCP FM in Clemson, WAGI in Gaffney and WESC FM in Greenville, Tiger football games games can be heard from northern Atlanta Suburbs to Winston-Salem, NC

For those in the Bishopville area, game coverage can be heard on WAGS, which is 1380 AM. Clinton has also picked up games on AM radio. Games can be heard in that area on WPCC, which is 1410 AM.

Hilton Head residents or visitors to the area can pick up games on 1130 AM (WFXH). It will be the first time in many years that Clemson has had an affiliate in Hilton Head. WIQB in Myrtle Beach has replaced 99.5 FM for this year. Its frequency is 1050 AM. Games will air on select occasions in the Newberry area on 1240 AM (WKDK).

Station WRML in Pageland has picked up game coverage for this season as well. Games can be heard in that area on 102.3 FM. Finally, WKHT will now be broadcasting games in the Sumter area instead of WIBZ. Those games will be on 93.7 FM in Sumter.

In addition to Saturday coverage, fans can follow the Tigers by listening to “Tiger Calls,” a one-hour call-in show with Jim Phillips and Tommy Bowden. The show will air each Thursday at 7:00 PM from an Upstate Ingles Grocery Store on most of Clemson Tiger Sports Properties’ affiliates. The show begins Thursday, August 29. Television affiliates for the Tommy Bowden Show were also announced. The show will air on Sundays at 11 AM in the Augusta, GA and Charleston areas. For Myrtle Beach, the show airs at 11:30 on WFXB. WOLO in Columbia and WASV in Greenville will air the show at 12 Noon on Sundays in the fall.
