Dear Camper, I would like to personally invite you to attend the 2000 Tommy Bowden Football Camp. While attending the camp you will receive instructions from our assistant coaches as well as selected high school coaches in all aspects of football, including: passing, receiving, line play, blocking, pass and run defense and kicking.

Fundamentals and techniques for each position will be taught and drilled in both the morning and afternoon sessions. Evening sessions will emphasize league games (no contact) in team groups at our practice fields. The final day of camp will feature a “Clemson Combine” in which campers will participate in a series of speed and agility related drills. We invite all parents to attend the final games of each camp.

Each camper will have an opportunity to choose which position he wishes to better his skills at. All sessions will be supervised by coaches as well as having a full-time trainer on duty at all times.

The camp is open to all young athletes entering 4th – 12th grade for the 2000-2001 school year and will consist of two sessions, June 11-14 and June 14- 17. Registration begins at 1:00 on June 11th and 14th.

WHAT TO BRING: Campers should bring tennis shoes, football shoes, under shorts, T-shirts, gym shorts, athletic socks, socks, sheets, blanket (dorm is air-conditioned), pillow case, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, towels, comb, and a willingness to learn. Camp will not be responsible for lost items.

WHAT NOT TO BRING: TV, expensive radio, expensive watches, football pads helmets.

DISCIPLINE: Any serious violation of camp rules and regulations could result in immediate dismissal from camp. There will be no refund of tuition in this situation.

INSURANCE: Accidental medical coverage is included in the camp tuition. A professional athletic trainer is on duty at all times. Because of the rigorous daily schedule, each camper should come to camp in good physical condition.

PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS: In the interest of the camper’s health and safety, we require a parental slip and a physical examination. Both of these forms are included within the camp application. The parental permission slip gives the physicians at Clemson University the authority to treat your child in case of illness or emergency. The physical form insures that your child is in top physical condition to compete in camp. Any physical signed within the calendar year by a licensed physician will be accepted. School physicals will be accepted if they meet the requirement of your state high school association.

NCAA RULES AND REGULATIONS: No free or reduced privileges – Institutional staff members or representatives of its athletics interest shall not employ or give free of reduced admission privileges to a high school, preparatory school, or a two-year college athletics award winner.

Senior prospect prohibition – “Senior prospective student-athletes” shall not be permitted to enroll, participate, or be employed in an institution’s summer sports camp. The definition of a “senior prospective student-athlete” is one who is eligible for admission to a member institution or who has started classes for his senior year in high school.
