Position: Offensive Player Development/Assistant Tight Ends Coach
Andrew Shipman is in his ninth season at Clemson in 2025 and his second serving in an offensive player development role and as an assistant tight ends coach.
Shipman served as a student coaching assistant for Clemson from 2017-20. In that role, he assisted with self-scouting and other assorted tasks as the Tigers made College Football Playoff appearances in all four campaigns. From 2021-23, he served as a video graduate assistant for Clemson’s offense.
Shipman’s work with the tight ends both off-field in 2022 and on-field from 2023-24 included assisting Clemson Co-Offensive Coordinator/Tight Ends Coach Kyle Richardson as the unit produced three consecutive years in which Clemson’s tight ends combined to catch 60 or more passes, a first in school history. They helped Jake Briningstool exit Clemson as the program’s all-time leader in career receptions by a tight end (127).
Prior to attending Clemson, Shipman assisted Richardson during Richardson’s tenure as head coach at Northwestern High School in Rock Hill, S.C., helping the Trojans to state titles in 2013 and 2015.
Shipman earned bachelor’s degrees from Clemson in both accounting and economics in August 2021. He added a master’s degree in athletic leadership in December 2023. He is married to his wife, Amber.
