N.C. State defeats Clemson 4-3

RALEIGH, NC–N.C. State defeated 18th-ranked Clemson 4-3 in an Atlantic Coast Conference men’s tennis match at Raleigh, NC Sunday.

With the win, N.C. State improves to 20-7 overall and 3-6 in the ACC. Clemson falls to 19-8 overall, and 3-6 in league play.

N.C. State is ranked 36th nationally, while Clemson is ranked 18th. Chris Welte clinched the match for N.C. State with a 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 win Brett Twente at number six singles.

Clemson will play host to South Carolina on Wednesday, April 12 at 2:00 p.m. in the Tigers’ next action.
