CLEMSON, SC – The No. 33 Clemson Men’s Tennis team won the doubles point and three singles matches in straight sets to open the ACC season with a 4-0 win over Louisville (6-6, 0-1 ACC). The Tigers improved to 11-1 on the season overall and earned their sixth sweep in dual-match play.
Clemson returns to Duckworth as part of Tennis Fest on Sunday at 12 p.m. against Notre Dame and 5 p.m. against Gardner-Webb. For each match, Tiger fans will receive a stamp on their “Tennis Fest Passport.” If a fan attends all three matches and fills their passport, they will be entered to win a prize. There will be games, food, prizes and more throughout the day and a pickleball free play between doubleheader matches.
Max Damm and Viktor Markov won their second consecutive doubles match together, this time a 6-1 win over Natan Rodrigues and Will Mayhew on court two. Noa Vukadin and Max Smith, the nation’s 47th-ranked duo, won their eighth consecutive match, besting Avendano and Steinbach, 6-2. Their win gave Clemson a 1-0 lead heading to singles.
Smith came out of the gates quickly on court six, taking down Hamza El Amine, 6-1, 6-2 to win his 19th singles match of the 2024-25 season. Wissam Abderrahman, ranked 90th nationally, took down Andre Steinbach on court two, 6-0, 6-2 for his 14th win of the season and fifth decision in a row.
Marko Mesarovic ended the match with his 6-4, 6-2 win over Miguel Avendano, his 19th singles win of the year and 12th in a row.
