ATLANTA, GA – Georgia Tech defeated Clemson 7-0 in a men’s Atlantic Coast Conference tennis match in Atlanta, GA Wednesday afternoon.
With the win, the 25th ranked Yellow Jackets improved to 13-3 overall and 4-1 in the ACC. Clemson, ranked 43rd this week, fell to 15-5, 1-4 in the ACC with the loss.
At number one singles, fourth-ranked Guillermo Gomez of Georgia Tech defeated Derek DiFazio 6-4, 6-3.
Clemson will play host to Boston College on Friday April 2, at 12:00 p.m. and to Maryland on Sunday, April 4, at 10:00 a.m.
Today’s match was the 50th meeting between the two schools on the tennis courts. The series started in 1925. Georgia Tech now leads the series 27-23.
