CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson men’s tennis team will play host to the College of Charleston Tuesday evening at 5:00 p.m. at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center.
The Tigers, ranked 65th nationally, have a 4-0 record this season. The Tigers are led by Derek DiFazio with an 8-2 record overall in singles and a 3-0 mark in dual matches.
The Cougars have a 1-0 record this season. Inclement weather has played havoc with the College of Charleston’s schedule this season forcing the cancellation and postponement of a few early matches.
This will be the 34th meeting between Clemson and the College of Charleston on the tennis courts. The Tigers lead the overall series 23-10. The series began on April 14, 1930 as the Cougars defeated the Tigers that day 3-2 in Charleston, SC.
The 2010 season marks the 100th year of men’s tennis at Tigertown. Clemson first sponsored men’s tennis in 1910 when two Tiger tennis players entered the annual state tournament.
