Kourtnei Brown Named Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week

NEW HAVEN, CT – The Walter Camp Football Foundation has announced the Football Bowl Subdivision National Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, presented by Generation UCAN, for games ending October 22.

Defensive Player of the Week: Kourtnei Brown, ClemsonGrad Student, Defensive End, Charlotte, NC/Victory Christian Center Clemson defensive end Kourtnei Brown had a big game as the Tigers remained undefeated with a 59-38 victory over ACC-rival North Carolina. Brown had two tackles and a pass break-up and scored two defensive touchdowns (one via interception and one via fumble). Brown is the first Clemson defensive player to score two touchdowns in a game since 1954.

Offensive Player of the Week: Seth Doege, Texas TechJunior, Quarterback, Wolfforth, TX/Frenship Texas Tech quarterback Seth Doege passed for 441 yards and four touchdowns as the Red Raiders defeated 3rd-ranked Oklahoma, 41-38. Doege completed 33-of-52 passes and threw for scores of 44, 30, 11 and 14 yards. Doege also had an 11-yard reception in the contest for Texas Tech (5-2, 2-2 in Big 12).

About the Award: This is the eighth year that the Walter Camp Football Foundation will honor one offensive and one defensive player as its national Football Bowl Subdivision player of the week during the regular season. Recipients are selected by a panel of national media members and administered by the Walter Camp Football Foundation.
