Smith was selected by D.C. United during the 2021 MLS SuperDraft (Jan. 21) with the No. 4 overall pick. D.C. United announced the signing of Smith on March 8.

- Following the 2020 season, Smith led the nation and conference in two categories.

- Smith is just the fifth player in ACC history and the second in Clemson history to accomplish this feat.
- Scored his second-career hat-trick in the Tigers’ ACC Quarterfinal match against Virginia Tech (Nov. 15).
- This was just the second hat-trick in ACC Tournament history.
- All three goals were scored in the first half (16′, 31′ 33′).
- Combined to contribute seven points in the Tigers’ ACC Quarterfinal match against Virginia Tech (Nov. 15).
- This is the most points in a single match in ACC Tournament history.
- Scored his first brace of the season in Clemson’s match against North Carolina (Oct. 27).
- This is the fourth multi-goal game of Smith’s career.
- Second-fastest brace in Clemson history (36 seconds).
- Scored his 20th career goal in a 2-1 victory over Wake Forest (Oct. 13).
- This served as Smith’s second goal of the season.

- Scored 13 goals throughout the season, taking 25 shots on goal.
- Scored first career hat-trick against USC Upstate (Sept. 9).
- Had a total of three multi-goal games.
- Tallied five assists throughout the year.
- Had a multi-assist match against NC State (Nov. 1).
- Scored three game-winning goals throughout the year.
2018 Season (Sophomore)
- Appeared in all 17 matches for Clemson
- Tallied a pair of game-winning goals as a sophomore
2019 Season (Freshman)
- Played in 14 matches, starting two and recording over 570 minutes
- Scored three goals (vs. South Carolina, UCLA, Georgia Southern)
- Tallied two assists (on both the equalizer and game-winner on Oct. 21 against Syracuse), good for a total of eight points on the season’
