The Tigers enter Friday’s match at 3-1-2 on the year. The fourth-ranked Clemson program went 1-0-1 on a northeast roadtrip last week, downing Boston College on Friday night on a goal from Misei Yoshizawa and earning a hard-fought draw against Holy Cross on Monday.Β
Wake Forest is coming off back-to-back draws last week, a 1-1 tie against Virginia on Friday and a 1-1 game against Elon on Tuesday. When the two teams met on September 22 last season, Wake Forest downed Clemson, 1-0, which proved to be the Tigers’ final loss of the season, as Clemson went on to earn its fourth national championship in school history.
Friday night is designated as alumni night, with the 2019 and 2014 teams being honored, as well as the 40th anniversary of the 1984 National Championship.
