Draft Rounds: The 2021 MLS SuperDraft will include three rounds and 86 total selections. All three rounds will be conducted on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021. Of note, the SuperDraft shifts this year from four rounds to three. As a result, any club that acquired a Round 4 pick via trade on or before October 29, 2020 will receive a compensatory pick at the conclusion of Round 3.
Selection Clock: Each team is allotted three minutes to make a selection.
Intermissions: There will be 10 minute breaks between Rounds.
Timeouts: Each team is permitted one timeout, lasting three minutes, with their selection made immediately after.
Trades: Prior to being announced, trades need to be verified and approved by the Commissioner and/or his designee. Trade announcements will not reveal the identity of players until those players have been contacted by their respective clubs. For example, Team A trades a βplayer to be named laterβ for Team Bβs first selection.
Team Passing: In the event a team passes, it shall be precluded from making any further picks for the remainder of MLS SuperDraft.
