Clemson Soccer || Spring 2015 Strength & Conditioning

The Clemson men’s and women’s soccer teams are both coming off successful 2014 seasons – the men won their first ACC Championship since 2001 and reached the NCAA Sweet 16, while the women advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2007 and won 13 games for the first time since 2002 and six ACC games for the first time ever.

However, neither team is satisfied, and both have greater goals. Achieving those goals and surpassing their 2014 accomplishments starts with the team’s offseason strength and conditioning workouts. Watch this video to see the teams in action during a training session, and hear from Dennis Love, Clemson’s former Director of Olympic Sports Strength & Conditioning, now an Assistant Strength Coach with the Denver Broncos, about the Tigers’ spring training philosophy.

One aspect of that philosophy is variety in training.

“Every day we’re in here, we’re changing their workouts,” said Love. “We’re creating an environment where we utilize new situations, new ideas and new ways for the student-athletes to challenge themselves.”
