Alumni in the Pros: September 7

MLS Recap

Tommy McNamara earned his first start in the midfield with the New England Revolution in the team’s match against New York City FC. McNamara logged 56 minutes on the field during the midweek contest. Over the weekend, McNamara was credited with his first assist as a member of the Revolution, as he slotted the ball over to Matt Turner in the third minute of the match during a beautiful counterattack.

Amadou Dia was a member of the bench for Sporting Kansas City in the club’s midweek draw with FC Dallas. Over the weekend, Dia earned the start and a full 90 minutes of action along his side’s defensive line for the club’s match against the Houston Dynamo.

Robbie Robinson entered in the 73rd minute of Inter Miami’s midweek draw with Atlanta United. Robinson registered one shot during the match. Over the weekend, Robinson appeared in the second half of Inter Miami’s 0-0 draw with Nashville SC, earning 36 minutes of playing time and registering three shots.

This past week’s match between the Columbus Crew and the Philadelphia Union saw both Andrew Tarbell and Joe Bendik dress as reserve goalkeepers for their respective sides. Tarbell and the Crew were victorious via a 1-0 result. Both keepers were members of their side’s bench over the weekend, as both teams won their respective matches via 3-0 decisions.

USL Championship

Phanuel Kavita sported the captain’s armband for Saint Louis FC as his club won their match over Sporting KC II with a 3-2 final score. Kavita registered one tackle, one interception and two clearances in the match.

Malick Mbaye made his professional debut with North Carolina FC, appearing in the 84th minute in his team’s match against the Charlotte Independence.

Patrick Bunk-Andersen entered the Pittsburgh Riverhounds’ midweek match in the 65th minute, with his side emerging victorious over Loudoun United FC via a 3-0 result. Bunk-Andersen contributed one clearance as a member of the backline. Later in the week, Bunk-Andersen appeared again as a substitute, this time entering in the 61st minute as his side went on to win over New York Red Bulls II with another 3-0 result.

Kyle Murphy entered his side’s midweek match in the 80th minute, putting one shot on target in his 10 minutes of game action, as the Tampa Bay Rowdies were victorious over The Miami FC via a 3-0 result. Over the weekend, Murphy entered as a substitute in the 58th minute for the Rowdies, helping his side to a 2-0 victory over Philadelphia Union II by contributing a cross and attempting one shot.

Jack Metcalf was a member of the backline for San Diego Loyal as his side drew, 1-1, with Las Vegas Lights FC. Metcalf registered one tackle and two successful crosses during the match.

Cody Mizell earned another start in net for New Mexico United as his side squared off against El Paso Locomotive FC.

USL League One 

Tanner Dieterich earned his first professional start by appearing in the starting XI for the Chattanooga Red Wolves in their weekend contest against Fort Lauderdale CF. Dieterich played a full match and contributed one tackle while completing 84% of his passes.

Paul Clowes earned the start in the midfield for the Greenville Triumph, contributing one blocked shot, one interception and two shots during his 62 minutes on the pitch.

International 

Ximo Miralles joined CD Numancia after a stint with A.D. Alcorcon!

Adrian Nunez contributed a delightful assist for his FC Desamparados side.
