Alumni in the Pros: November 9

It was a limited week of action in professional soccer, as USL league play came to an end last week. This past week, the MLS’s concluded its regular season and five alumni are now set to participate in the MLS playoffs which will begin Friday, Nov. 20. Our international alumni contributed a pair of quality performaces during their matches this past week.

MLS Recap

When the Philadelphia Union and New England Revolution met on Sunday evening, Joe Bendik and Tommy McNamara were on the bench for their respective sides as the Union earned a 2-0 victory in the regular season finale for both teams.

Andrew Tarbell was on the bench for both of the Columbus Crew’s matches this past week, with the Crew earning three points during the two games.

The MLS Playoffs are set to begin on Friday, Nov. 20, with five alumni of Clemson’s program ready to play. Amadou Dia and Sporting KC have earned the top-seed in the West, while Bendik and the Philadelphia Union have secured the top-seed in the East. Inter Miami CF and the New England Revolution will play in Friday’s play-in matches. A full preview of the playoffs can be found here.

International 

Ximo Miralles was in net for all 90 minutes of Numancia’s match against Lealtad, with Numancia earning a 1-0 victory in Segunda Division B play.

Oliver Shannon played a full match for Bala Town FC, helping his team to a 1-1 draw with The New Saints in Welsh Premier League play.
