A week of thrilling matches signaled the resumption of professional soccer across the country, with alumni of the Clemson men’s soccer program right in the midst of all the action.
Joe Bendik was named to the Philadelphia Union’s 21-man roster for the team’s opening match against NYCFC. The Union won the match via a 1-0 result, with the lone goal coming in the 63rd minute.
Andrew Tarbell was named to the Columbus Crew’s 21-man roster and saw his side convincingly win its opening match over FC Cincinnati via a 4-0 result.
Amadou Dia dressed for Sporting KC’s opening match of the MLS is Back Tournament. In the match against Minnesota United FC, Dia and Sporting KC fell short of victory, as a 2-1 decision went against his side.

Jack Metcalf provided a delightful assist to the San Diego Loyal’s lone goal on Saturday, as the team defeated Real Monarchs SLC, 1-0. Metcalf was substituted off in added time and finished the match having completed 94 percent of his passes.

Kyle Murphy was substituted on for the Tampa Bay Rowdies in the 62nd minute of the match against Atlanta United 2. The Rowdies claimed a 2-1 victory, as Murphy logged three shots during his time in the match.
Cody Mizell was in net for New Mexico United as the team won its opening match via a 2-1 result over Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC.
