Alumni in the Pros: September 14

Clemson men’s soccer alumni had a great week of action across the landscape of professional soccer!

MLS Recap

Robbie Robinson was named to Inter Miami’s starting lineup for the first time since returning to the squad last month in the team’s midweek victory over Atlanta United. Against Atlanta, Robinson contributed two shots in 68 minutes of action. Over the weekend, Robinson was once again named to the starting XI and contributed one shot before exiting the match in the 61st minute.

Andrew Tarbell was dressed on the bench for the Columbus Crew as the team played to a 2-2 draw against the Chicago Fire.

Amadou Dia was on the bench for Sporting KC as his side emerged victorious on Sunday evening over Minnesota United via a 1-0 result.

Joe Bendik and Tommy McNamara met over the weekend as the Philadelphia Union and the New England Revolution squared off on Saturday night. Bendik, who was on the bench for the Union, saw his side emerge victorious with a 2-1 victory. After being named to the starting lineup, McNamara played 68 minutes.

USL Championship

Jack Metcalf earned a place in the San Diego Loyal’s starting eleven in both matches this past week with his side emerging victorious both times. During the midweek match, Metcalf played 70 minutes and contributed one tackle and two interceptions as his side played to a 3-0 victory. Over the weekend, Metcalf made four clearances and two interceptions as his side picked up a great 2-0 victory over Orange County SC.

Patrick Bunk-Andersen earned his first start with Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC as his side went on to win 5-0 over Hartford Athletic. Bunk-Andersen made one tackle, one clearance and one interception while distributing 80 passes, completing 85% of them.

Cody Mizell played an inspired 90 minutes against Real Monarchs SLC en route to his side emerging victorious via a 2-0 result. Despite only making one save, Mizell recorded his fourth clean sheet of the season.

Phanuel Kavita once again sported the captain’s armband for Saint Louis FC as his side played Louisville City FC. Kavita contributed two tackles, three clearances and an interception as his side fell, 3-0.

Kyle Murphy entered the match at halftime for the Tampa Bay Rowdies and played the final 45 minutes of his team’s match against the Charleston Battery.

Malick Mbaye was on the bench for his side’s midweek match against Memphis 901 FC this past week.

USL League One 

Tanner Dieterich was a part of two thrilling victorious with Chattanooga Red Wolves SC this past week, earning the start in both matches and scoring his first professional goal in his side’s 2-1 victory over the Richmond Kickers. Dieterich played all but seven minutes across the two matches.

Paul Clowes earned the start with Greenville Triumph SC over the weekend as his side played to a 2-0 victory over Forward Madison FC. Clowes was subbed off in the 66th minute after making one tackle and two clearances.

International 

Iman Mafi and Diego Campos both started for FK Jerv in their match against Sogndal earlier today.
