Clemson Notes:

• Clemson (14-3-5) advanced to the Elite Eight after a 3-1 victory over Albany on Sunday night.
• Austen Burnikel tallied two goals in the victory to bring his season total to five.
• Senior Alex Happi continued his postseason streak recording his fourth goal of the postseason and second match in a row for a total of three goals in two matches. He is also tied for second in the NCAA Tournament for overall goals.
• For the second straight year, the Tigers have advanced to the Elite Eight.
• Head Coach Mike Noonan is currently 73-46-26 at the helm of the Tigers and is only three wins away from 300 in his career and this season is his 15th appearance all-time.
• The Clemson defense is currently ranked 14th in the NCAA with a (0.69) goal against average and 12th in the country with a (0.50) shutout percentage.
• The Tigers lead the way in the NCAA Tournament averaging four assists per game.
• Five of the eight teams remaining in the NCAA Tournament are from the ACC.
• 12 different Tigers have scored for the Tigers this season to make up the 29 goals scored by the team and rank third in total points with 18.
• Since 2005 the Tigers are 9-1-1 at Historic Riggs Field in the NCAA Tournament.

Denver Notes:

• Denver (19-0-3) defeated No. 11 Washington, 2-1 to advance to the Elite Eight.
• The Pioneers won the Summit League Tournament Championship for the second straight year to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and the No. 6 overall seed.
• Sophomore Andre Shinyashiki leads the team with eight goals and 21 points for the season.
• The Denver defense is ranked first in the NCAA with a (0.48) goal against average and third with a (0.59) shutout percentage
• Redshirt sophomore Nick Gardner ranks third in the NCAA with a (0.503) goals against average and has played 21 matches and 1,966 minutes in net for the Pioneers.
• Including 2016, Denver has a 58-12-11 record over the last four seasons.
• This is the fourth year in a row the Pioneers have made the NCAA Tournament
• Denver will enter 2017 on a 35-match regular season unbeaten streak dating back to Halloween Night, 2014.
• Redshirt Senior defender Reagan Dunk has been named to the MAC Herman Trophy semifinalist list.

Series Notes:

• Friday is the first ever meeting between Denver and Clemson.
• Denver is the first program to go unbeaten in consecutive regular seasons since Clemson did so in 1977-78.
• The only common opponent between the two sides this season was Creighton. Clemson won 2-1 and Denver tied the Bluejays 0-0 in double overtime.
