CHAPEL HILL, N.C.- The North Carolina Tar Heels defeated the Clemson Tigers 3-0 (15-3, 17-15, 15-8) in ACC volleyball action Saturday afternoon. Clemson drops to 5-8 overall and 1-1 in the ACC while North Carolina improves to 12-2 overall and 2-0 in league play.
Jodi Steffes and Kiki Dallao led the Tigers offensively. Steffes tallied a match-high 17 kills with three block assists and eight digs. Dallao recorded a .483 hitting percentage with16 kills (two errors in 29 attempts, seven digs, one solo block and one block assist. Jessi Betcher handed out 39 assists with five digs and one service ace. Tami BySura had 11 digs while Laura Jensen added 10 digs.
North Carolina’s Casey Simpson led the Tar Heels with 15 kills while Laura Greene added a double-double with 14 kills and 12 digs. Eve Rackham tallied a match-high 52 assists with 11 digs and two service aces.
Clemson plays host to SEC rival Georgia Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Jervey Gym. Admission is free to all Tiger home matches.
