CLEMSON, S.C. — Sara Burkett scored two goals while Sheri Bueter had two assists in leading 14th-ranked Clemson to a 7-0 win over LSU in the second game of the ACC/SEC Women’s Soccer Challenge at Clemson, SC Friday night.
With the win, Clemson improves its record to 6-3 overall, while LSU falls to 4-4-2 this season. Clemson is ranked 14th by the NSCAA poll, and 17th by the Soccer America listing.
Clemson scored its first three goals in a period of 2:25. Alison Burpee scored at the 17:01 mark while Julie Augustyniak added a goal at the 18:21 point in the game. Burkett finished the scoring spree with 19:26 gone in the match.
Clemson outshot LSU 26-4.
LSU will play Wake Forest on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. while Clemson will face Kentucky at 7:00 p.m. in the final two games of the ACC/SEC Women’s Soccer Challenge at Clemson, SC.
