UNC Greensboro defeats Clemson

GREENSBORO, NC–UNC-Greensboro defeated Clemson 2-0 in a men’s intercollegiate soccer match at Greensboro, NC Saturday night.

With the win, the Spartans improve to 2-0, while Clemson falls to 1-1 this season.

James Goodman scored on a penalty kick at the 59:53 mark. The Spartan’s Randi Patterson scored his third goal of the season with an assist by Phil Long with 73;09 gone in the match.

UNC-Greensboro took 11 shots compared to Clemson’s nine.

“We did not play well in the first half,” said Clemson Head Coach Trevor Adair. “I was very disappointed in the our performance, but we played better in the second half. We will have to work on our mistakes and improve.”

Clemson will play host to Stetson on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. at Historic Riggs Field.
