Tigers Face Tough Test at ACC/B1G Challenge

CLEMSON, S.C.— The Clemson Rowing team returns to action this Saturday for the ACC/Big Ten Challenge in Columbus, Ohio. The Tigers are set to face off against top tier opponents in reigning national champions in third-ranked Ohio State, sixth-ranked Michigan, and Michigan State. The Tigers will compete against all three teams in two morning sessions at Griggs Reservoir on the Scioto River. Racing against Ohio State begins at 7:25 a.m. and will be followed by a matchup with Michigan and Michigan State at 9:40 a.m.

This marks the second consecutive year the Clemson Rowing team has participated in the ACC/Big Ten challenge. The Tigers will also be facing similar competition as Ohio State and Michigan were two of the other three participants. Of note, Clemson 3V8’s first place finish over Navy and the then ninth-ranked Michigan garnered the boat an ACC Crew of the Week nod, the only such award for the team of the season.

The Tigers are coming off of a recent victory in the Carolinas Cup, which saw the team narrowly edge out Duke and North Carolina for the Daughtry Cup. The 3V8 and 2V4 both won their heats, while the 1V8, 2V8, and 1V4 placed second in theirs.
