Clemson, SC – The Tiger rowing team will play host to the Clemson Challenge on Saturday at Lake Hartwell. Indiana, Marist, & Purdue will be in town to take on the Tigers in six events, beginning at 9:00 AM. Clemson will dedicate three racing shells (one 8+ and two 4+ boats) on Saturday at the regatta, which will also serve as the parents and alumni weekend for the Tiger rowing program.

The Tigers got the spring season underway two weeks ago by sweeping the Eagles of Eastern Michigan University. The preseason poll for Division I rowing was released Wednesday by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA), and the Tigers are in the receiving votes category. Clemson would be 24th in the preseason poll, as the Tigers are fourth under the most received votes (19).

The first race of the morning is scheduled to be the third varsity 8+ race between only Clemson and Indiana. All four schools will enter one boat in the first varsity 8+, which is slated for 9:15 AM. The second varsity 8+ is scheduled for 9:45, while the second novice 8+ crews from Clemson and Purdue will race at 10:15.

At 10:25, the boat dedications will take place in front of the Tiger boathouse. Following those ceremonies, the novice 8+ will race at 10:45 and the varsity 4+ will conclude all racing action at 11:15.
