The Clemson rowing program will host its newest ACC foe, Boston College, on Lake Hartwell this Saturday. The event, which is scheduled to start at 9:00 AM, will feature five races between the two schools. The Eagles are the sixth and newest member of the ACC rowing programs.
Last weekend, the Tiger program got the 2006 spring season off to a great start with a sweep of Eastern Michigan. Highlighting the Tigers’ performance on March 4 was the varsity 8+ finishing with a time of 6:52.00. Another highlight was the novice 8+ pulling out to a runaway win in their race.
The first scheduled race this Saturday will be the varsity 8+ at 9:00 AM. That will be followed by the second varsity 8+ twenty minutes later, and the novice 8+ approximately going at 9:40 AM. Then, the two schools will split their varsity 8+ and second varsity 8+ into 4+ boats. The 4+ races will be the final ones of the morning.
The Tigers return to Lake Hartwell for a third consecutive regatta at home on March 18. Participating schools in the Clemson Challenge will be Indiana, Marist, Penn, and Purdue. The event will start at 9:00 AM.
