Second Varsity 8+ Earns ACC Crew of the Week Honors

Clemson’s second varsity 8+ was selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference crew of the week after posting a first-place finish in the Clemson Challenge regatta held last weekend on Lake Hartwell. The Tigers defeated second-place Indiana by 12 seconds and were first in the seven-boat race. As a team, the Tigers won four of five events overall.

The Tigers’ time of 6:59.6 was its fastest of the spring season thus far. Clemson cruised to the victory after gaining open water by the 1,000m mark.

The crew of the second varsity 8+ included coxswain Sarah Canterbury, Margaret Gattis, Jenny Champa, Jaclyn Rath, Brittney Gamble, Allison Spiker, Mary Nell Green, and Laura Nichols.
