Sarah Cooper Named CRCA First-Team All-American

May 31, 2006

Clemson rower Sarah Cooper was one of 42 student-athletes named to the CRCA Pocock All-America teams on Wednesday. Cooper, a junior from Westminster, SC, is the fourth CRCA All-American in school history. She joins Lucy Doolittle and Aimee Fox as first-team All-Americans from Clemson. The 2006 season marks the second straight year the Tiger program has had an All-American, as Ashlee Brown was a second-team choice a year ago.

Cooper has had a decorated spring of 2006. She first earned All-ACC honors at the conference regatta on April 22, making it the second straight year she was named to the all-conference team. Then, on May 22, Cooper was named first-team All-Region, a first in her career. Cooper, a three-year letterwinner at Clemson, rowed with the varsity 8+ this spring.
