The Clemson rowing team returns to action this weekend as it will take part in the third annual Windermere Crew Classic held at Redwood Shores in Redwood City, CA. The two-day event will take place Saturday, April 9 and Sunday, April 10 beginning at 9:00 AM both days.

The Tigers are one of 17 teams competing in the event, including California (Berkeley), Dartmouth, Georgetown, Michigan State, Oregon State, Princeton, Sacramento State, San Diego State, Texas, UC Davis, UCLA, Washington, Virginia, Wisconsin State, Yale, and host school Stanford.

Clemson’s schedule of events for the two-day regatta is among the toughest of the 17 schools, as the Tiger rowers will face four nationally-ranked. The Tigers get underway at 9:24 AM on Saturday with a varsity 8+ race against UCLA. The same squads will go at it again at 10:28 with the second varsity 8+. The Bruins are ranked 13th in the latest US Rowing/CRCA coaches’ poll.

The Tigers will race against California three times on Saturday, beginning at 11:54 AM with the novice 8+ race. The two schools meet again at 3:26 PM (varsity 8+) and at 4:30 PM (second varsity 8+). California is fifth in the latest poll, which was released Wednesday.

Clemson concludes Saturday’s events with a novice 8+ race against Washington, who is at #11 in the latest varsity 8+ poll. The Tigers race at 9:00 AM (second varsity 8+) and at 10:32 AM (varsity 8+) on Sunday morning with host Stanford. Clemson’s competition will conclude at 11:48 Sunday morning with a novice 8+ race against UCLA. The Windermere awards ceremony will be held at 12:30 PM.

The Tigers last raced two weekends ago when Clemson took three out of six events at Lake Melton in Oak Ridge, TN from Cincinnati and Dartmouth.
