Rowing Squad Successful At Head Of Hartwell Regatta

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson rowing team competed in the Head of Hartwell Regatta on Saturday on Lake Hartwell. In the Varsity 8+ race, Clemson A placed first with a time of 19:36.00, followed by Clemson B at 20:07.00. The Tigers’ third-place boat turned in a time of 20:43.00.

In the Novice 8+ race, Clemson A was first at 21:47, followed by Clemson B at 22:23. Clemson C turned in a time of 22:34 in the race. Clemson’s winning boat in the Varsity 4+ race finished in 22:07, followed by Clemson B at 22:09.

“Today we had beautiful weather with no wind and flat water,” said Clemson head coach Susie Lueck. “Many parents and fans came out to cheer the Tigers on in their first home head race.”

The Tigers will compete in the Clemson Class Day Regatta on Sunday. Tomorrow’s festivities begin with a boat dedication at 10 a.m. followed by the class day races. After the races there will be a learn to row opportunity for family and friends.
