CLEMSON, SC. – Jack Handy’s goal at the 12:21 mark of the first half helped pace Furman to a 2-0 victory over Brown Sunday afternoon on the second day of the Clemson/Nike Invitational Tournament at Clemson’s Historic Riggs Field. The Paladins outshot Brown 14-11 for the game. With the win, the Paladins improved their record to 9-1 on the year while the loss dropped Brown to 4-3-1.
The score remained 1-0 until the 68:04 mark when Patrick Tanner dropped a shot past the Brown goalkeeper to put Furman up 2-0. Sergei Raad tallied two assists for Furman. The Paladins finished the tournament 2-0 after defeating No. 20 Cal-State Fullerton on Friday night.
