Nineteenth-Ranked Clemson Rowing to Face #3 Michigan, #4 Ohio State, and #14 Harvard This Weekend

CLEMSON, SC – The #19 Clemson rowing team will travel to Columbus, OH to take on #2 Virginia, #3 Michigan, #4 Ohio State, and #14 Harvard on Saturday in the final regatta of the 2012 regular-season.

“We had a great performance at our conference championship last weekend and we are looking forward to great competition against Ohio State, Michigan and Harvard this weekend,” said Clemson Head Coach Robbie Tenenbaum. “The entire team had a great week of practice as we prepare for our last regular season race.”

The Tigers will face Ohio State and Harvard in the morning session beginning at 9:00 am, and then will face Michigan and Harvard in the afternoon session beginning at 1:00 pm.

Clemson’s 1st Varsity 4 is looking to build on their first-place finish at the ACC Championships, while the 1st and 2nd Varsity 8 are looking to improve on their times in their final regular-season races.

“The seniors on our team have really stepped up the past few weeks,” said Tenenbaum. “One of our captains, Becca Brown moved into the stroke seat of our 1st Varsity 8, Kristen Agee has been doing a great job all spring in the 2nd 8 and Taylor Hoynacki, Katie Mosier, Rebekah Clogston and Kenzie DuBrul were the Varsity 4 that won ACC’s along with freshman coxswain Carissa Richardson. It is always great that the senior leaders can lead the charge.”
