CLEMSON, S.C. – Laura Slice, a member of the inaugural 1998-99 Clemson rowing team, has been named second assistant rowing coach, head coach Susie Lueck announced. The 1999-2000 team finished second at the inaugural ACC Regatta held at the University of Virginia, and recorded a fourth place finish at the regional regatta.
“We are excited to have not only a third coach to work with our 60-70 athletes, but Laura also adds her personal experience with the program and her strong leadership abilities to the coaching staff. As a former rower here, she understands what it takes to be a successful athlete, and she has a dedication to this program and helping it attain the highest level of success,” Lueck said.
Slice was co-recipient of the Most Inspirational Rower Award, an honor voted on by her peers, as a tribute to the individual who motivated them to work harder and who led by example. She is a 1999 graduate of Clemson with a degree in Biological Sciences, and was a member of the academic honor roll.
