Clemson, SC – The Clemson women’s soccer team is ranked 25th nationally according to the Soccer Buzz poll released on Monday, October 29. The Lady Tigers fell one spot from a 24th-place ranking in last week’s poll. Clemson is the sixth-ranked team in the Southeast Region according to the association’s regional rankings.
The Lady Tigers are 8-3-5 overall and 1-2-5 in Atlantic Coast Conference play, most recently playing Miami to a 1-1 double-overtime tie in Coral Gables, FL last weekend. Seven of Clemson’s last eight games have advanced to double overtime and the Lady Tigers have a 1-1-5 record in those contests, all of which were played against ACC opponents.
UCLA sits atop the Soccer Buzz rankings for the second straight week, while Texas A&M, Portland and Southern California are second, third and fourth, respectively. Virginia is ranked fifth and North Carolina is sixth to lead six teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference in the weekly poll. Wake Forest, Boston College and Florida State are listed 12th, 16th and 17th by Soccer Buzz.
The Lady Tigers fell out of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll for the first time this season, however the team continues to receive votes in the coaches’ poll.
Clemson will play host to Florida State and Duke in its final two regular season matches. The Lady Tigers will face the 15th-ranked Seminoles on Thursday, November 1 at 7:00 p.m. and the Blue Devils on Saturday, November 3 at 7:00 p.m. at Riggs Field.
