GREENSBORO, NC – Clemson women’s tennis senior Keri Wong and sophomore Klara Vyskocilova have been named to the 2012 All-ACC Women’s Tennis team by the league coaches on Thursday. It is Wong’s third All-ACC honor, and the first for Vyskocilova.
Wong, ranked 43rd in the nation in singles, has played primarily at number-one and number-two singles positions this season. Wong has a team-best 24 wins this season in singles, including an 9-2 mark in league play, and is tied for second on the squad with 26 doubles wins. She is tied for sixth in school history with 102 career singles wins, and second in school history with 118 doubles wins. Her 219 career total wins are third in school history. For her career, she is 34-10 in ACC dual matches. In doubles, she is ranked 12th in the nation with Josipa Bek, where they have played at No. 1 all season. Wong is also ranked with Beatrice Gumulya at 43rd nationally. Vyskocilova, a native of Klatovy, Czech Republic, has had a breakout sophomore campaign, winning 23 of her 31 matches this season while playing at flights two through four. She also compiled a 9-2 ACC mark, and is ranked 66th in the nation in singles. She also leads Clemson with a 29-7 doubles record, most of those coming with Monika Kochanova, with whom she is 23-5 on the season and 8-3 in ACC play. No. 22 Clemson compiled a 15-8 overall mark and 8-3 league record in earning the fourth seed and a bye in the 2012 ACC Tournament, which began Thursday. Clemson earned a bye, and will play at 9:00 am on Friday.
