CLEMSON, S.C. — Samantha Buyckx, Eleni Louka, Cristina Mayorova and Jenna Thompson are traveling to Jacksonville for the UNF Invitational this weekend from Nov. 12-14. The competition marks the Tigers’ final tune-up before a two month lay-off, followed by the spring season kicking off in January.
Competition begins Friday, featuring two rounds of doubles and concluding with singles play. The doubles pair of Thompson and Louka will take on UCF’s pairing of Mattel and Sharma in Flight 1 at 9 a.m. Buyckx and Mayorova will compete in Flight 2 against USF’s Eland/Mjos pairing.
Mayorova, competing in singles Flight A will face Florida’s Emma Shelton following doubles play at a time to be determined. Thompson will take on Nandini Sharma in Flight B, while Louka will square off in Flight C withTulane’s Kristen Borland. Buyckx rounds out the Tigers’ competitors in a match with UNF’s Summer Yardley in Flight D.
Thompson will look to carry some momentum from her 6-1 record at the ITA Regionals in late October, while Buyckx will look to recapture her form from the 49er invite, where she went 3-0 on the weekend.
