Five Clemson Women’s Rowing Team Members Named to 2011 All-South Region Team

CLEMSON, SC – The 2011 Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Division I all-region award-winners were announced yesterday, with five Clemson student-athletes being named to the All-South Region team. These awards recognize the outstanding performances of rowers and coxswains from each of the five regions, organized into first and second-team selections.

Freshman Laura D’Urso, a 2011 All-ACC selection, and senior Liz Robb, also a 2011 All-ACC selection, were both named to the All-South Region First Team. Both were members of the 2011 1st Varsity 8 ACC Crew-of-the-Year.

Sophomores Katie Bruggeling and Heather Cummings, as well as junior Becca Brown were named to the All-South Region Second Team. All three were also members of the 2011 1st Varsity 8 ACC Crew-of-the-Year.

The team finished second in the ACC Championships and 15th in the NCAA Championships.
