Elder Named to 2010 ACC All-Academic Women’s Soccer Team

GREENSBORO, NC – Sophomore forward Maddy Elder was named to the 2010 ACC All-Academic Women’s Soccer Team as announced by Commissioner John D. Swofford. It is the second consecutive ACC All-Academic honor for the biological sciences major from Roanoke, VA, as she was also named to the team as a freshman in 2009.

Elder led the Tigers in scoring in 2010 with five goals and three assists for 13 points. The native of Roanoke, VA started 13 of the 14 games that she played in, logging 957 minutes on the field. Two of Elders’ five goals were game-winners for Clemson.

Elder was also named to the 2010 CoSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District 3 Women’s Soccer Team.

To be eligible for All-Academic Team consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.
