Nick Bowman

Position: Director of Recruiting

Nick Bowman enters his third season on the men’s basketball staff in 2017-18 as the program’s director of recruiting. Head coach Brad Brownell announced Bowman’s addition in July 2015. In his role, Bowman helps advise the staff on recruiting strategy, branding and program messaging, and he assists with the planning of official and unofficial visits.

Bowman came to Clemson after working as the director of basketball operations during the 2014-15 season at Eastern Kentucky University.

In his first season, the Tigers compiled a 10-8 ACC record and notched four wins over top-25 teams. Three came in consecutive fashion, a first in program history. Bowman was also part of a staff that oversaw a 74-73 win at Syracuse, a team that advanced to the Final Four. The Tigers again beat a Final Four team in 2016-17 after defeating rival South Carolina in Columbia.

Bowman helped the Colonels to a 21-12 record and Eastern Division championship in the Ohio Valley Conference. He coordinated all administrative responsibilities for the program, and was previously a graduate assistant on Jeff Neubauer’s staff in 2012-13. That season, the Colonels were 25-10 overall, 12-4 in the OVC.

In 2013-14, Bowman was an operations assistant at the University of Tennessee on Cuonzo Martin’s staff. He helped the Volunteers to a 24-13 overall record and Sweet 16 appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

A native of South Webster, Ohio, Bowman earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education from EKU in 2010. He earned a master’s degree in sports administration in 2013. He was a student manager for three seasons as an undergraduate.
